A manor steeped in history
The hotel was built in 1800 from an old farmhouse and was originally known as the Manoir des Mouettes.
In 1865, the remains of Saint Valentine were given by Pius IX to Abbé Tréhu, the owner of the manor. On his death, his niece and sole heir was keen to keep the remains and had a Gothic-style oratory built in the property’s garden.
Following the Second Vatican Council in 1962, Father Telisle, who was then the parish priest in Courtils, had the reliquary moved into the peaceful surroundings of the chapel, on the other side of the central aisle, where it still remains today
The Saint Valentine chapel is sure to impress you and add a romantic touch to your stay at the Manoir de la Roche Torin.
